ok so the last AGM for Duran was held October 16/08. According to sedar there is a meeting scheduled for next month June 30th. I did some digging and if I'm reading this correctly Duran doesn't need to have another meeting until 15 months after the last. It's been about 7 months. So why the meeting so soon? is there going to be a board change or something that qualifies this as a special meeting that needs to happen now? or am I just reading into this? fyi The following information is taken from the Business Corporations Act <http://www.qp.gov.bc.ca/statreg/stat... > Annual general meetings 182 (1) Subject to subsections (2) to (5), a company must hold an annual general meeting, (a) for the first time, not more than 18 months after the date on which it was recognized, and (b) after its first annual reference date, at least once in each calendar year and not more than 15 months after the annual reference date for the preceding calendar year.

I might be wrong, but I think the normal timeframe for Durans AGM is at the end of June. So I wonder, is this years AGM just getting back on schedule after last years delay due to the merger between MMG/DRV?

ya but why waste time, money and the effort of having a meeting 1/2 a year before you are required?

I think it's just a regular AGM but I don't know what warrants the meeting "special", unless there is a vote in board change or something like that.

maybe the directors think it is time to award themselves more options

That wouldn't surprise me a bit. They previous options valued at over $1.00 per share will most likely be unexcercised, at least in the near to mid term. Trainboy

Now Trainboy, wouldn't that just end up being the final kick in the butt for the retail investor?
